Meet the Eastern Enthusiastic Team
The regional committee in the East is made up a Chairman and representatives for coaching, rider training, judges, para dressage, members and BYRDS. The Regional Committee work closely with the Regional Development Officer to develop, support and promote BD activity throughout their region.
Katharine Perry – Regional Development Officer (RDO)
Katharine Perry is the only full time BD-employed member of the Eastern Region committee. She works tirelessly to organise clinics and training opportunities for riders, judges and coaches across the region and keeps everything running smoothly. She is always on hand at key events and is totally dedicated to delivering the best dressage region in the country. Katharine is calm and unflappable, and has a wealth of knowledge, so she’s a great person to get to know.
Lotte Olsen – Eastern Region Chair
Lotte is an exceptionally proactive and supportive leader, who has been instrumental in helping to break down the barriers and perceived stuffiness of dressage, to help make it a more welcoming and inclusive sport. Lotte is an accountant by trade, and brings enormous experience to this role, leading a committed and highly capable team to give the Eastern Region the edge. She is also a List Three 3 judge and dressage competitor, so she sees BD from every angle.
Hayley Liddiard - Rider Rep, List 3 Judge and UKCC L3 Trainer
Hayley Liddard is the rider rep for the region, providing fantastic support and encouragement to help riders get the most out of their membership. She is also an experienced dressage rider, trainer and judge. She is bursting with knowledge and ideas and is always happy for people to ask her for help.
Eleanor Collins - BYRDS Rep
Eleanor Collins leads BYRDS and is loved by every kid in the group. She is the 'super mum' who shares her knowledge and insight into the world of dressage, turn out, rider fitness and horsemanship skills - you name it she knows it. Her fabulous lorry is a home-from-home and the young riders all flock to it! “Life is too short, so live it and enjoy it” is her moto – a fabulous and inspirational leader who motivates all the children and parents around her!
Pam Bushell (Judges Rep) List 2a Judge
Pam is a List 2a judge. She organises numerous training events across the year to help judges develop their skills. Pam is a devoted volunteer and has a busy schedule judging up and down the country. She loves the variety of judging everything from ROR and Draught Horse championships, to Premier Leagues - and everything in between!
Tracy Wright (Coaching Rep) UKCC L3 Coach
Tracy is the Coaching Rep for the Eastern Region. Since taking on the role, Tracy has put on some amazing demos and seminars ranging from training techniques to sports psychology. Tracy has ridden up to Inter 1 level and coaches all over our region. She is keen to help her fellow coaches and pupils, aiming to ensure all trainers keep up to date with current developments in our sport.
Joanne Dagley Cleworth (Para Rep)
Since taking on the role of Para Rep, Joanne has built a strong community across our region and created some fantastic training opportunities. She became a para rider in 2013 following spinal surgery, and is passionate about supporting our regional para riders to successfully compete at the highest level. With several RDA National Champions active in our region and victorious team and individual performances at the home internationals in 2016, Joanne is determined to build on this success in the coming years.
Katie Tysome (Marketing Rep)
Katie has recently joined the committee to help promote the region and support the RDO in keeping members up to date with developments, activities and events. Katie has a strong marketing and PR background and has recently started competing her young horse, so she’s passionate about raising the profile of the region and encouraging others to take part.
