Write For A Judge And See It From The Judges View
Alex's Dressage Tips
The BIGGEST and most helpful tip I can give for Dressage for Eventers / RORs is to sit in and write for a judge (or judges).
You’ll be able to see the areas of the arena that you need to be particularly careful to show a soft and connected way of going. Conversely, you’ll be able to see where we cannot see things particularly clearly.
Listen to the comments and marks for different ways of going so you can sense the faults verses the major faults as well as the positive traits we look for and want to encourage through our marking.
I am always very happy to have competitors join me at C for a few hours and will talk through how what I see turns into the marks I give. Jan Searle joined me recently at M at Keysoe, and saw things that will alter what she does in a test moving forwards. Message me if interested and we can sort out some dates and venues.
