Bonnie and Bear now sensibly safe and happy

Staying safe was the purpose of reaching out to our behaviourist but the results of Bespoke and Instant Liquid Caalm even shocked Susanne.

"This winter I reached out to the formulators at Hack Up Bespoke to help us following an explosive outburst and subsequent fall. Two weeks after our bespoke was refined we took this video at the exact spot. This long wet winter brought out all the weaknesses in our relationship and Bear’s ability to be above me in decisions he chose to take. Now with this lock down I can image there will be many more who are going to be going through the same so I wanted to share my story of the support work I have also been doing with behaviourist Susanna List. The refined bespoke had additional chamomile, removal of magnesium, increased pre and pro and detox within a few days I saw the difference on the video, I just wished I could have filmed it before. I now have Instant Liquid Caalm to use in addition for riding, as we are now all in our lock down and we seriously do not want to have any accidents that need a hospital visit. Xx"Bonnie Debenham

Susanna’s story: Susanna List of Equine Endeavours.

I was pretty bowled over by the video's Bonnie sent! Totally different horse, and that brings me a lot of joy! I am a big advocate of the importance of diet with the horses and this approach of creating a personal assessment with the ability to change it is the way forwards for my clients. There is no replacement for good training, routine and overall well being, but there is defiantly a place for supporting all of this to help our horses feel happier to work.

When I first met Bear, it was clear that he had become very practiced at planting when out hacking. He would do it at any moment he chose from the minute he left the yard, and it wasn't uncommon for his owners to be stuck in the same spot with him for half an hour! On my first visit, we set about re-establishing leadership from the ground - we wanted to make it clear to Bear, through passive leadership techniques, that it was his owners who were responsible for making the decisions in the partnership, not the other way round! On my second visit, we worked on unsticking his feet when ridden. We used a giddy-up rope for this, being very careful how and when we used it; the timings have to be quite exact for the giddy-up rope to be fully effective. On my third visit, Bear had definitely found all his gears and his feet were well and truly unstuck! But unfortunately, it seemed he didn’t quite know how to handle his newly found forwardness, and what we were seeing was a Bear ready to explode for the smallest of reasons, be it spotting something moving in the distance or a slight shift of weight from his rider. On this visit, I did witness Bear, whilst on a short hack, throw himself around for a good ten seconds like a rodeo horse. He was clearly overwhelmed and we needed to reset Thank goodness his owner rode like a pro. We worked on slowing and softening everything down, from our breathing rate, to the pressure of our aids, to the expectations of our ride. All of this, coupled with an holistic approach from his owners, now sees a transformed Bear. A much happier horse who can enjoy hacking out by putting his trust in his rider, something he wouldn’t let himself do before. A real success story.  I can recommend Hack Up Bespoke formulators to work closely with the horses owner to respond to what the horses are doing and offer support by phone and refer our services by digital video and phone calls during our lockdown – which is inevitably going to pose new behavioral issues for many. Stay safe. xx
