Whey protein isolate is produced using grass fed cows and is rich in amino acids, the body’s essential protein building blocks. There are 21 amino acids and many of these can be produced by the body, however 9 of them cannot be produced by the body so have to be supplied in the horses’ diet. Whey Protein contains all 9 missing amino acids. Whey protein isolate is particularly high in the branched chain amino acids (BCAA) Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. These amino acids stimulate protein synthesis and constitute 35% of the amino acids in the muscle. 

It is by product of the cheese making industry and once the whey is separated it goes through a process called ultra-filtration. This preserves the amino acids and reduces the amount of fat and carbohydrate present and leaves a creamy powdered substance with a protein content of around 90%. The whey protein used in our supplements is 90% lactose free. It is highly palatable, easily digested and is useful in building muscle mass and strength in animals of all disciplines and ages.
