"SUN + MORE SUN = HARD GROUND"

With such a long, freezing and boggy winter and spring it's really not surprising that we all want get as much as we can out of our horses as possible in this fabulous weather. However it's hitting a point now that caution is required.

The ground usually gets hard for a period over the summer, so nothing new here, but the weather we're having right now is particularly hot and dry. So we're seeing competitors pulling out of events after the dressage or before the cross country to save their horse's joints, certainly if they're not likely to be in the prizes.

We are dealing with many more enquiries for windgalls / swellings than usual because of this ground. My advice is that prevention is better than cure. Doing any type of work on hard ground is going to put extra concussion / pressure on the joints so it's always advisable to help the body to cope with this through supplementation. We here at www.hackup.co.uk can tailor a suitable level of individual ingredients to suit the specific horse's situation, whether it be to promote comfort, to help with circulation or simply to promote the regeneration of connective tissue at optimum levels.

Remember - it's definitely easier to keep good joints clean and healthy than to try to help damaged ones!!
