Remember that your horse / pony will be sweating just STANDING STILL in these temperatures so please be sure to add at least 30ml in the daily feed to replace the lost salts, and ensure water is readily available at all times.

Certain breeds of horses and ponies REALLY suffer in this heat. If they're turned out, please ensure that there are shady areas for your horse to escape the heat, or if possible, and the stable adjoins the field, then keep the stable door open so he can come and go as he pleases. The quantity of water drunk in 30c tempuratures will increase considerably so if no automatic water troughs, then please add a few extra buckets of water to the field. Even if you're not exercising your horse he'll sweat throughout the day so will need salts replacing on a daily basis. If in exercise then sweating will obviously increase considerably.
