FEI supplement warning

Riders are advised to keep log books of supplements ours is now being automated, but ensuring your horse does not fail a blood test is more complex that this.

Competition blood tests are keeping the sport safe & clean. The blood tests search for substances rather than ingredients that are banned or restricted by the FEI.  It is the rider's responsibility to avoid feeding these naturally occurring substances, however which feeds they are hidden inside of is not common knowledge. All manufacturers who include known restricted ingredients do not control what the animal is fed therefore we take a zero tolerance in all our supplements. Now we are offering our competition riders a complete feed assessment and digital logbook for their vets, trainers, and nutritionists to refer to where ever and whenever they need it. We will identify a high or low-risk assessment for the rider to take further action on for their own safety.

Under current regulations, manufacturers of feed and supplements do not list substances within ingredients that are been tested in blood tests as a standard requirement. Our own research identifies that many mainstream companies, with all the accreditations to their name, do in fact include ingredients with restricted ingredients in them. We have gained confirmation in writing from numerous companies that their trace elements will not fail a test. However, they have no way of recording or knowing what other ingredients are being fed to your competition horse leaving the decision totally in the rider's hands. Hack Up Bespoke take a zero tolerance to permit any restricted ingredients into our dedicated factory guarantee rider security.

One of our own formulators daughter's won an International British show jumping class in Portugal she had previously had a few top placing’s on her schoolmaster, her bespokes were providing joint and digestive support. After proudly being on the podium with the national anthem playing, she was then escorted out of the ring by an official to the stables for blood testing. "It was not a pleasant or friendly experience, but knowing we had Hack Up Bespoke support made the wait for the results more comfortable," said Charlie Cox. Our advert in October featured riding customer Abigail Taylor before she was accepted onto the prestigious National Acadamy with British Dressage and winning the Regional Medium Silver Championship. She called us following a training session on competition feeds, this really highlighted the difficulty and confusion of the situation and made us determined to help solve this issue for our customers who compete at this level. We did a full review of her horse's nutrition to assess the risks of the substances within each element that she was feeding her horse. Even simple feeds like Alfa-A has a naturally occurring restricted substance within it. The invitation to be the main sponsor of the British Eventing European Junior team gave us the perfect platform to launch the digital logbook for top riders. New digital technology enables you to see all of the information on your horse's diet that you can update and we will review, free of charge, as a service to bring bespoke to the forefront of competition support. Our digital logbook is completely confidential and locked onto our two dedicated servers for you and your vets to access. This comes with learning lots of new information and analysing the rules about competing at this level. As a director of Hack Up Bespoke riding PSG on my schoolmaster made me really study all the rules and regulations which identified lots of concerns as a rider and also areas where without our amazing support team I would have been dreadfully confused.

FEI WARNING EXTRACT - the very real risk of online purchases does not include our products, the International quality standards and legislation requirements for bespoke can only be created using digital technology online.

"Persons Responsible should never purchase (or have purchased) supplements from non-reputable sources. Online resources may be able to help in identifying reputable sources, but not all supplements can be or are checked and it is well known that product ingredients vary from country to country, and even from batch to batch. Where supplements are given to a Person Responsible horse, the FEI’s Veterinary Regulations recommend keeping a log book listing all supplements administered to the horse, including all details such as date of administration, dose, place of administration (location), official product name and the relevant batch number. Any Person Responsible who uses supplements, herbal remedies etc. for his/her horse does so at his or her own risk of committing an EADCMR violation. Persons Responsible should always ensure that they exercise extreme caution and judgment in the products that they use."
