Hotty Hyperion now taking 13 year old high profile.

Going High Profile after Instant Liquid Caalm Combo made him super ridable for Katya!

Hotty Hyperion took my 13 year old round his first BD camp with a teenager on his back! One of his first camps was when she was 8 and he was 6 and he was trained by Levi Hunt at Somerford Park pre covid during the Hack Up Bespoke sponsorship for BD North West. He is by Don Tango and Levi had one by him too, he knew what I was riding was HOT and really put me through my paces.

This month I took Hyperion to the BD Camp with Junior to see if Katya needed a new horse or if in her GCSE years she could compete my own horse, to lower the workload on her for the next few years. So was Hyperion going to be too much to ride or Junior too complex to compete at 13. Hyperion had not been in work all week so I rode him to work him in and to mine and Levi's delight he was settled, concentrating and cooperating. Levi congratulated me for getting his head in the game as he did recall him from the years before!

So - what have I changed! Well that was all down to a chat with Antonia Brown, so I changed the way I used our own products! It worked first at the Festival where he was bold and brave, my first shock of the year, so I did it again for this camp: I loaded Hyperion with Instant Liquid Caalm in his breakfast and again in a scoop with some mix before we rode on the Keysoe carpark. We worked him for 10mins and then popped Katya on top. Levi put her through some low-pressure work and Hyperion was super happy and submissive at all times. So Char Lassater took over in the afternoon. Junior was declared complex, so Hyperion was the one for the test!   Char pushed them through medium movements as if she was an adult and was so excited to see she was eligible for children on horse classes. Asking how old are you Katya? And seeing the delight on her face when she replied 13 was quite a moment!

Katya's story "My first test ride with Hyperion at Elementary was so much fun, he is so responsive, I seriously have not ridden him at all, it did take me riding the first half of the test to know exactly what he needed me to tell him and when. I have been caring for him on our yard since I was 8 years old and he always loved to chew my hair over the stable. It feels really strange riding him and he is mums horse but as I do my studies for GCSE it seems like a natural fit and I feel really really lucky. Now I hope I can pull it out of the bag at High Profile shows this October and December!"
